BABES IN PERIL ON DVD
By Mike Clark, USA Today

Andy Sidaris won a parcel of Emmys directing Monday Night Football and other sports at ABC; you'll need a parcel of beers left over from the Super Bowl to be in the right frame of mind for The Andy Sidaris Collection, Vol. 1 (1985-93, Ventura, rated R, $15 each or in a $70 box set). The only forward passes here are lofted by male-model types toward toned-up beauties (many ex- Playboy Playmates like Dona Speir and Hope Marie Carlton) who battle terrorists and fake-looking reptiles while piloting cargo planes and buzzing around tropical locations on motorbikes. With scantily clad 6-footer Julie Strain at his side and wife/partner Arlene Sidaris just off camera in what looks like a dream home, the man who also staged the famed football scene in the movie of M*A*S*H introduces titles that seemed to run for years as a perpetual loop on Cinemax Saturday Nights. They are: Malibu Express (1985); Hard Ticket to Hawaii (1987); Picasso Trigger (1989); Savage Beach (1989); Guns (1990); and Enemy Gold (1993, directed by son Drew Sidaris).
